the provost must be a gifted collaborator who genuinely likes to work with a variety of constituencies and who respects all members of the hollins community. hollins seeks a provost who believes deeply in the power of equity and inclusion in higher education. the university also desires a transparent and collaborative leader who will build on hollins’ existing academic programs and create connections across the campus community that stretch beyond academics. other opportunities for the new provost include restructuring the academic affairs office, developing a strategic plan for hiring a strong and diverse faculty, and harnessing financial and human resources to recover and rebuild in a post-pandemic environment.

the successful candidate will have an earned doctorate or other terminal degree and record of distinguished scholarship and teaching requisite for an appointment as a tenured associate or full professor; significant experience as an academic administrator in higher education including experience with budget management, fund raising, curriculum reform, and strategic planning; and experience and demonstrated success in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives as they relate to academic programs including, but not limited to, the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty.

hollins university is seeking qualified candidates for full-time (40 hours/week) custodians.  these positions work sunday-thursday or tuesday-saturday on the 4:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., or 1:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. shift.

qualifications include the ability to perform basic housekeeping functions (dusting, vacuuming, use of floor care equipment, bathroom sanitation, etc.), and may involve furniture moving and setup.  must have abilities to climb stairs, lift up to 50 lbs, and understand and follow directions.  must also be a self-starter and team player, and have a valid u.s. driver’s license with minimal violations.  will be subject to criminal history and motor vehicle background checks.

Groom/Stable Workers

hollins university seeks applications for one full-time and one part-time groom/stable workers to clean stalls, feed and groom horses, and perform general barn duties.

full-time hours are primarily 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (but may vary) five days/week, including one weekend day, with flexibility for two days off per week. part-time hours are 2:30-6:30 p.m. five days/week; exact days are to be determined, but will likely include one weekend day.

Experience working with horses preferred. Must have a valid United States driver’s license with minimal violations. Will be subject to a motor vehicle background check.
